Matthew is a Solicitor within the Commercial Property department of our Albyn Place office. He primarily deals with development work for the firm’s longstanding housebuilder clients and has particular experience in dealing with wayleaves and servitudes for electricity, gas and water. Matthew commonly assists Partners within the Commercial Property department with the acquisition of development sites across Scotland for national and local housebuilders and developers. Having also dealt with development plot sales during part of his traineeship with the firm, Matthew understands the key considerations associated with a residential housing development from the early stages of a site purchase, right through to the sale of development plots.

Matthew’s enthusiastic, friendly and practical approach is tailored to achieving the business objectives of clients. He brings with him an attention to detail and ability to identify points which matter to clients, regardless of the complexity of the transaction.
Matthew first joined the firm as a work experience student in 2007 and worked part time in the firm’s cashroom, leasing and commercial departments while studying law at university. Matthew completed his traineeship in the firm’s Commercial Property department in 2016.
Matthew is a member of the Law Society of Scotland and is a Notary Public.
