Internal promotions boost commercial property and private client teams
Leading Aberdeen and North-east legal firm Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace LLP (RCCW) has announced two promotions within its highly regarded commercial property and private client departments, with the elevation of Craig Veitch and Gillian Smith to Associate.
Craig joined RCCW in March 2019, having attended Aberdeen Grammar School and graduated from the University of Aberdeen. Craig gained wide experience in the commercial property sector, commencing his career in private practice before working as an in-house legal adviser in the oil and gas industry and local government. Craig has expertise in several aspects of commercial property. He specialises in commercial lease negotiation, property acquisitions and disposals, including acting for landlords, tenants, developers and commercial lenders.
Heather Stephen, Head of the firm’s Commercial Property Department said “ I congratulate Craig on his well-deserved promotion. Craig will continue to support our clients providing the efficient and solution focused service for which we are well-known. As a department we have been particularly busy as restrictions have begun to ease, and Craig has been instrumental in helping us to continue to deliver our first class service”.
Gillian is a graduate of Dundee University, and completed her traineeship in the North of Scotland. Upon qualifying she continued to focus on private client work, joining RCCW in 2017. Gillian is based at the firm’s Banchory branch where she provides legal advice and support on private client matters, such as the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney, care cost planning and executry administration. Douglas Crombie, Senior Partner in the firm’s Private Client Department said: “I commend Gillian on her promotion and wish her all the best for the future. Our private client team is now established as one of the North East’s most highly regarded and respected, and has been particularly busy recently as clients look to put their affairs in order in response to the COVID pandemic.”
