Our Stonehaven Partner Rod Macdonald is well known as a technical diver and author of wreck diving books such as Dive Scapa Flow and Into the Abyss. Although he is used to sub sea activities he is also in the local Stonehaven MRI Lifeboat crew who were called out during the recent massive floods - the worst flooding in living memory in the town. The lifeboat crew evacuated more than 100 residents from flooded properties during a 6 hour non stop shift from 8pm to 0200. The water in the High Street, the main road that leads down to the harbour was up to the crew's chests and flowing quickly. In the picture Rod and some of the crew have off loaded some residents and are returning back to the main flood area to recover more evacuees.
