As part of their “Advocating Youth Development” initiative, Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace received an overwhelming response from local youth sporting teams and clubs for the offer of £300 kit sponsorship. Portlethen Panthers basketball team were the lucky winners for the Stonehaven branch, who recently took delivery of their new kit.
Naomi Mearns, Branch Principal in Stonehaven commented, “We are delighted to be able to help youth teams in our branch areas and received an amazing response to our initiative. In the current economic climate, youth sporting teams are finding it increasingly difficult to obtain sponsorship and we are delighted to be able to help Portlethen Panthers, who up until now have had one set of very old kit being used between two teams”.
She added, “It was a difficult decision to choose just one team to receive the sponsorship. This initiative has highlighted to us the problems many youth teams experience and all of them desperate for funding. With that in mind we plan to re-run this initiative, giving this same opportunity to other teams in our local areas”.
Jackie Bruce, Under 12’s coach of Portlethen Panthers commented, “We are over the moon with our new team strips and had the opportunity to wear them for the first time at a recent tournament at the International School in Aberdeen. We have an amazing squad of really enthusiastic kids - and now they truly look like a team. Our club is so very grateful to Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace for this much needed support”.
