Many feel daunted when considering writing a Will or believe that they are too young to need one. Is this you?

The reality is that a carefully thought through Will ensures that your assets are inherited by those you wish, not whom the State determines.
Still a daunting decision but one we help guide hundreds of clients through every year.

Our highly qualified team includes members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) who have undertaken additional training to further their knowledge in the sector. STEP provides a mark of distinction in trust and estate planning.

When writing a Will there are many questions that we will ask. Here are a few to consider ahead of meeting:

Who would you like to wind up your Estate? They are called Executors. You should always have a backup Executor.

Emily Fitzgerald suggests some things to consider when appointing an Executor in this YouTube video.

Have a think about who you wish to inherit. There may be specific items that you wish to leave to friends or family. You will often want to consider backup beneficiaries too.

If you have children under 16 then you can nominate someone to act as their Guardian.

Do any of your beneficiaries have Additional Support Needs? A Will can plan for the investment and management of funds to meet their specific needs.

Funeral instructions can be detailed and be as specific or general as you wish. We find that many family members appreciate guidance to rely on following the death of a loved one.

You should review your assets and try to put a value on your net worth. This assists us in providing Inheritance Tax and Estate planning advice.
