Last Friday we said farewell to Bruce Robertson, Partner in our Commercial Property team.  Having studied at Aberdeen University, Bruce joined the then firm of Clark and Wallace on the 1st August 1978 and has spent his whole career, from trainee, Assistant Solicitor, and then Partner with the same firm which has now evolved to become Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace. In a career spanning almost forty six years, Bruce has proved himself to be a loyal and highly regarded Lawyer practising primarily in the field of Commercial Law.  He has acted for many high profile clients in the field of Oil and Gas as well as many other business and professional organisations centred both here in the North East of Scotland and further afield.

Reflecting on his career, Bruce said “It is hard to believe that it is forty five years since I walked through the doors of our Albyn Place office for the first time as a trainee Lawyer. There have been so many changes in the legal world during my time with the firm following the introduction of improved technology and communication but one thing which has remained the same is the great working atmosphere which I have enjoyed at Raeburn Christie Clark and Wallace over all these years. I have been very lucky to have worked alongside many talented and diligent colleagues who have given me invaluable support and have taught me so much, not only about work but about life in general. I have also appreciated working with many excellent clients and developing long standing working relationships with them. I am leaving the firm in the very capable hands of my Partners and our amazing staff and I wish the firm continued success for the next forty five years.”

Whilst Bruce’s friendship and guidance may be missed, his clients will be well looked after by his colleagues, Gordon Wallace and Craig Veitch, with whom Bruce has worked closely over the last few years.

Callum McDonald Managing Partner said “Bruce will be sorely missed both as a colleague, a friend and as an integral part of the firm’s Management Board.  I have worked with Bruce since the merger twenty years ago and will miss his friendship and unique sense of humour.  We wish him all the very best in his retirement.”
