Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Aberdeen

Where you did study/what’s your career background?

I studied Law (LLB Hons.) at the University of Aberdeen and returned there to complete a Diploma in Legal Practice.
Thereafter, I completed a shared traineeship at two small firms in Aberdeen and stayed with one of them for many years after qualification before moving to RCCW

Why did you apply to RCCW?

I had always been impressed with the quality of the lawyers at RCCW when on the other side of transactions.

What department(s) do/have you worked across?

I have worked in the Residential Conveyancing department since joining the Firm more than 10 years ago.

How would you describe a typical day/your experience at RCCW to date?

A typical day is a busy one, there’s seemingly always something urgent to be done in the Residential Conveyancing department!  Having said that, rising to the daily challenge is all part of the fun.  It helps to be part of a great team of solicitors and staff.

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to pursue a career within a law firm (even if you aren’t a lawyer)?

My best advice is to keep learning and always be prepared to adapt. There’s no such thing as a silly question.  A career in a law firm can be very satisfying.

What do you like most about working at RCCW?

The best thing about working at RCCW is being allowed the autonomy to develop your abilities whilst also being part of a much larger, very supportive, team.  And, obviously, everybody is super-nice!
