Leading North-east LLP Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace (RCCW) are delighted to announce a number of promotions at the firm. Kimberley Smart and Gordon Wallace are both promoted to Partner, and Stacey Grubb, Michael Leith and Grant Mills are promoted to Associate Solicitor. These announcements come as the firm prepares to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ‘Raeburn Christie’ and ‘Clark & Wallace’ merger in June 2004.

Kimberley Smart has been with the firm for 3 years.  Kimberley studied at RGU, securing a BA in Law and Management together with an LLB and DPLP. She is based at the firm’s Inverurie branch, where she helms the office as Branch Principal. With 15 years’ experience of the local residential conveyancing market, Kimberley will continue to support clients across a range of property transactions.

Gordon Wallace joined the firm’s Commercial Property department in September 2019. A University of Aberdeen graduate, Gordon undertook his traineeship in the Central Belt.  He returned to Aberdeen in 2014 when he joined a leading Scottish commercial legal firm, which subsequently merged with an international legal firm. Gordon has considerable experience of purchase, sale and lease transactions in the renewable energy, office, hospitality, industrial and rural markets. In recent years, Gordon has specialised in development transactions for national and local house builders.

Stacey Grubb joined the firm’s Private Client department in 2022 after completing her traineeship at a well-respected local firm. A graduate of RGU, Stacey will continue to specialise in Wills, Trusts and Executry practice.

Michael Leith joined the firm as whilst studying at RGU in 2015.  After completing his degrees and DPLP, he continued his RCCW career as a trainee, qualifying in 2020.  Since qualifying Michael has continued to work in RCCW’s Corporate and Employment departments where he assists clients in matters including acquisitions and disposals, shareholder relations, employment contracts, policies and wider employment law matters.

Grant Mills joined the firm in July 2021 after having completed his traineeship in his home town of Elgin.  He is based at RCCW’s Union Street branch. Having completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Aberdeen, Grant attended the University of Edinburgh where he completed the accelerated LLB, before returning to Aberdeen to complete his DPLP.  Following completion of his traineeship, Grant has continued to specialise in residential conveyancing and has extensive knowledge of the Aberdeen property market.

Managing Partner Callum McDonald said “We congratulate Kimberley and Gordon on their promotion to Partner as we continue to expand the firm in our core area of property work. Congratulations are also due to Stacey, Michael and Grant on their well-deserved promotions, which are testament to their hard work and abilities across the range of legal services which we provide.  These promotions reflect the firm’s ongoing commitment to supporting and developing local talent, and are very fitting as the firm looks forward to celebrating 20 years as the merged RCCW.  I am confident that they will continue to offer first class service to new and existing clients and help us to continue to support clients across the region. “
