Fiona Coutts
Experience to assist you
Fiona is an experienced and able family lawyer. She qualified as a solicitor in 1995, and since then she has dealt almost exclusively with family law cases. Fiona has a wealth of knowledge to apply to her more complex and difficult cases. She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Family Law, and since 2005 has been a trained Collaborative Lawyer.
Fiona strives to resolve her cases in an amicable fashion if possible. However, she is also an experienced and tenacious litigator should court action become necessary.
Going the extra mile
Fiona has a calm, and sympathetic approach, which is of tremendous benefit in the often stressful field of family law practice. She has been commended by her clients for her clear and pragmatic advice. Her experience in the family law field means that other solicitors often refer their more complicated family law cases to her.
Other Roles
Fiona has tutored at the University of Aberdeen in both the Professional Ethics, and Family Law/Civil Court practice classes in the Diploma in Legal Practice. She is a member of the Family Law Association and the Aberdeen Bar Association and takes an interest in keeping abreast of the latest developments and reform in the arena of Family Law.
